Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Inventory Specialist to join our team and drive excellence in inventory management and supply chain operations. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing warehouse distribution processes, optimizing inventory levels, and ensuring seamless coordination across procurement, logistics, and warehouse functions. Your expertise will help streamline operations, improve process efficiencies, and support data-driven decision-making to meet organizational goals. Responsibilities Manage warehouse inventory levels through effective stock control, demand planning, and replenishment strategies using warehouse management systems (WMS) and ERP platforms such as AS400 or similar software. Conduct root cause analysis on inventory discrepancies, stock shortages, or excesses, implementing process improvements to enhance accuracy and efficiency. Collaborate with procurement teams to source materials, negotiate supplier contracts, and optimize pricing strategies based on market trends and data analytics. Utilize data mining tools like Power BI and Excel data analysis techniques to visualize inventory trends, forecast demand, and support strategic planning. Oversee logistics operations related to shipping & receiving, order fulfillment, materials handling, and 3PL (third-party logistics) partnerships to ensure timely delivery and optimal stocking levels. Perform financial analysis related to inventory costs, supply chain expenses, and pricing models to inform purchasing decisions and improve profitability. Maintain cross-functional communication with merchandising, retail management, sourcing teams, and warehouse staff to align inventory strategies with business objectives. Requirements Proven experience in warehouse distribution, inventory management software (such as ERP systems), and warehouse operations with a strong understanding of supply chain management principles. Demonstrated skills in data analytics, visualization tools like Power BI or similar platforms, and Excel data analysis for reporting and decision-making purposes. Technical proficiency with warehouse management systems (WMS), AS400 or equivalent ERP systems, and materials handling equipment including forklift operation certification preferred. Strong negotiation skills with experience managing supplier relationships and contracts within procurement or sourcing functions. Ability to perform root cause analysis, process improvement initiatives, and financial modeling related to inventory control. Excellent communication skills for collaborating across departments such as logistics, merchandising, retail management, and procurement teams. Physical ability for light to heavy lifting as required in warehouse environments; familiarity with shipping & receiving procedures is advantageous.
