Job Summary We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Inventory Specialist to join our dynamic supply chain team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing inventory levels, optimizing warehouse operations, and ensuring accurate stock control across multiple categories. Your expertise will help streamline processes, improve data accuracy, and support efficient procurement and distribution activities. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a fast-paced environment where your analytical skills and technical proficiency will drive operational excellence. Responsibilities Oversee warehouse distribution activities, including stock receiving, storage, and order fulfillment to ensure timely and accurate inventory movement. Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS) and ERP platforms such as AS400 and SAP to monitor inventory levels, perform data mining, and generate reports for management review. Conduct root cause analysis on inventory discrepancies, stock shortages, or excesses, implementing process improvements to prevent recurrence. Collaborate with procurement and sourcing teams to optimize purchasing strategies, negotiate with suppliers, and manage logistics for inbound and outbound shipments. Perform demand planning using analytics tools like Power BI and Nielsen data to forecast inventory needs accurately. Manage category-specific inventory control initiatives, ensuring compliance with merchandising standards and supply chain policies. Support warehouse operations by coordinating materials handling, shipping & receiving, heavy lifting activities, and maintaining safety standards. Skills Extensive experience in warehouse management, logistics inventory management, and supply chain analytics. Strong data analysis skills with proficiency in spreadsheets (Excel), data visualization tools (Power BI), and inventory management software. Technical proficiency with ERP systems such as AS400, MRP modules, and warehouse management systems (WMS). Excellent negotiation skills coupled with supplier management experience to optimize sourcing strategies. Ability to perform root cause analysis, process improvement initiatives, and financial modeling related to inventory control. Knowledge of materials handling equipment including forklift operation; certification preferred. Strong cross-functional communication skills for effective collaboration across procurement, merchandising, logistics, and warehouse teams.
