Company: Watchtower Defense Location: Tomball, TX Reports to: Inventory & Production Planning Manager Job Type: Full-time, hourly (non-exempt), permanent About Us Watchtower Defense is a growing firearms manufacturer specializing in precision-engineered handguns and rifles. We’re looking for a hands-on Inventory Specialist to run the physical inventory behind our manufacturing operations. Position Summary You will work across two buildings (1400 and 1500), receiving, labeling, storing, kitting and tracking every part and raw material that goes into our American-made 1911 pistols and rifles. Accuracy and following procedure matter here: many of our parts are serialized and tracked to ATF standards. Key Responsibilities Receiving: Receive vendor shipments from Shipping and check quantities against the packing slip. Note any discrepancies, then scan and file the slip and send it to Procurement. Lots and QC: Assign a lot number to each shipment and print labels (Code 128 barcodes, Zebra and Dymo printers). Pull the AQL sample for QC. Hold the rest until QC releases it, then count it in and put it away. Kitting: Pull and kit parts for build orders on the dates set by the Manager. Record the lot of each part on the build order. Check kits back in from the builders. Coating and heat-treat send-outs: Bag, sleeve and tube outgoing parts. Send them up to Shipping and check them back in when they return. Machine floor staging: Stage raw material for machine M/Os, no more than one week of machine capacity. Cut frame bar to length at the band saw. Check finished machined parts into stock after QC. Counts: Do the monthly physical count and the monthly fallout count with QC. Run scan-in/scan-out and cycle counts as scheduled. Logs: Keep the inventory-area access, kit checkout, R&D pull and tester-part logs current every day. Serialized parts: Handle and log serialized frames and parts by ATF protocol. Move scrapped frames to the destroy cage when approved. Records: Scan MTRs and packing slips to OneDrive and file the paper copies. Housekeeping: Keep both inventory areas organized and labeled, with every bin in its location. Goals & KPIs Above 98% count accuracy on monthly and cycle counts Receipts logged the same day; QC-released parts put away within 1 business day Kits ready on the planned date Every log complete, with no unlogged pulls or entries Qualifications 1+ year in inventory, warehouse, receiving or shipping Comfortable with barcode scanners, label printers, tablets and Excel Careful with counts and paperwork; follows procedure every time Able to lift 50 lb, stand and walk for the shift, and move between two buildings Must pass the firearms background check (ATF Form 4473 eligibility) Preferred Manufacturing or firearms industry experience MRP/ERP experience Forklift certification
