Inventory/Purchasing Specialist

Position Overview The Inventory/Purchasing Specialist plays an important role in supporting our day-to-day operations. This position is responsible for accurately, safely, and efficiently performing inventory counts to ensure materials are properly accounted for and readily available. The Inventory/Purchasing specialist also assists with purchasing for the Portsmouth branch. The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-conscious, hardworking, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on environment. What You’ll Do Inventory counts: Weekly cycle counts plus the quarterly hard count; reports counts to Richmond office Mins/maxes: Owns day-to-day execution; shared effort with Richmond, which provides guidance and direction Adjustments: Enters them into the system; Richmond approves before they post Purchasing: SOs/POs for all Portsmouth PMs at the PM's direction; no dollar limit on PM-directed orders Receiving: Owns it. Checks in deliveries, matches packing slips to POs, reports shortages or damage Yard and safety: Required PPE, forklift operation, keeps the yard organized and safe to HQ standards of work Systems: Acumatica, Fence Wizard, Slack, Asana What We’re Looking For High school diploma or equivalent 2+ years in inventory or purchasing Ability to lift 50+lbs and work outdoors in all weather conditions. Strong work ethic, punctuality, and teamwork mindset. Valid driver’s license - Required Authorized to work in the U.S Proficient with computers; ERP experience a plus (Acumatica preferred) Forklift experience/certification- Preferred Training Training for this position will include a short period of working in the Richmond/Ashland offices to shadow the Purchasing and Yard teams.
