Inventory/ Parts Clerk

Job Title: Inventory/ Parts Clerk Location: Thousand Oaks Salary: $22-$25 (with CDL) Job Summary: This role includes managing inventory, purchasing parts, and ensuring the timely availability of parts to support fleet maintenance. As the part clerk you will collaborate with the maintenance team, vendors, and suppliers to optimize parts availability while maintaining budgetary goals. Key Responsibilities: Inventory Management Maintain accurate inventory records and adjust levels based on fleet maintenance demands. Conduct regular inventory audits to prevent shortages or overstock. Implement strategies for efficient parts storage and handling to reduce loss and waste. Source and purchase high-quality parts from reliable vendors at competitive prices. Manage parts orders and ensure accuracy in parts received versus ordered. Maintain detailed records of all transactions, orders, and inventory changes. Ensure compliance with American Transportation’s purchasing and reporting policies. Establish and maintain relationships with parts suppliers and manufacturers. Handle warranty claims and returns efficiently. Address any supply chain or delivery issues promptly to minimize fleet downtime Qualifications: 3+ years of experience in a parts management role, preferably in a transportation or bus industry setting. Strong knowledge of inventory management systems, purchasing processes, and cost control strategies. Excellent communication, organizational and or negotiation skills. Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with maintenance teams, vendors, and suppliers. Preferred Skills: Familiarity with commercial bus or large vehicle parts. Experience using inventory software and tracking systems. Work Environment: This role may require working in a warehouse or garage setting, with moderate physical activity, including lifting up to 75 lbs. Flexible availability is needed to respond to fleet needs.
