TITLE: Inventory & Packaging Clerk – Summer Intern (Spring Acres) DEPARTMENT: L&M Warehouse of Spring Acres REPORTS TO: Warehouse Manager LOCATION: Spring Hope, NC (Onsite) SUMMARY: This full-time summer internship is a great opportunity with the potential to transition into a full-time role. As an Inventory and Packaging Clerk Intern, you will support quality and production teams' goals by assisting with planning, data entry, Inventory control, and executing production activities to ensure strong performance throughout the season. RESPONSIBILITIES: Work closely with the Warehouse Manager and Sales Teams Oversee material and product inventories to ensure accurate availability Direct truck drivers and confirm correct product loading Support production in D365, including printing tags and inventory receipt and consumption KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES: Builds and maintains effective working relationship with growers and customers, while giving top customer service Strong verbal and written communication skills – including the ability to listen effectively – and the ability to think / respond / react appropriately in fluid situations Knowledge of general accounting principles and practices Knowledge of USDA standards and regulations Computer proficient with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications Must have the ability to reliably travel to various work locations as required EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: High School Diploma or General Equivalency Degree (GED) required Some college preferred Customer service experience Fresh produce experience preferred WORK ENVIRONMENT: Work may involve a combination of indoor and outdoor environments, with opportunities to move between work locations to gain exposure to different areas of the company and learn about various operations Dynamic and fast-paced office environment Warehouse and field environments with varying temperatures, noise levels, equipment, machinery, and vehicle traffic, including exposure to moving equipment, forklifts, agricultural machinery, delivery vehicles, and other equipment associated with company operations May be exposed to dust, dirt, pollen, soil, plant materials, and other conditions commonly associated with agricultural and orchard environments Regular exposure to outdoor weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, wind, humidity, and varying seasonal conditions Core Competencies and Behaviors Team Oriented Works cooperatively and collaboratively with others Is open, not defensive, and easy to approach Earns the confidence, trust, and respect of others Communication Communicates in an open and honest way Builds consensus - solicits input and discusses options with people affected before making decisions Keeps others informed, communicates expectations and shares information Listens actively and understands other’s views and needs Values Driven Supports, promotes, and models the values of L&M (Service, Integrity and Relationships) Balances entrepreneurial spirit with the needs of others and the vision of the Company Shows a strong work ethic and commitment to L&M Customer Focus Treats customers as business partners Listens actively to external and internal customers Constantly looks for better ways to service customers Employment with L&M is based upon skill, ability, education, and performance.
