Role and Responsibilities of Inventory Operations Manager:
You will oversee inventory control strategies and provide operational leadership to improve inventory performance, support customer requirements, and enhance business processes. The position focuses on accuracy, reporting, technology utilization, relationship management, and continuous improvement.
• Manage inventory control strategies that align with customer agreements and operational expectations.
• Establish and improve processes that support inventory accuracy, reporting, accountability, and asset control.
• Develop preventive strategies to identify and address inventory risks and operational issues.
• Implement improved methods for inventory analysis, planning, and decision-making.
• Track inventory control performance indicators and ensure requirements are achieved.
• Review inventory accuracy, shrink performance, and service agreements while delivering regular reports.
• Enhance inventory systems and workflows to maintain effective control and accurate records.
• Prepare documentation for customer, financial, and regulatory audit activities.
• Develop strong working relationships with customers and operational teams to support improvement efforts.
• Lead associates through performance evaluations, development plans, succession planning, and engagement activities.
• Apply company policies while supporting a safe, secure, organized, and equitable workplace.
• Support employee retention and provide leadership to improve team performance.
Required Skills and Experience of Inventory Operations Manager:
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with 4 years of inventory control experience required.
• Minimum of 3 years logistics industry experience required.
• 3+ years of management experience required, preferably in a large-scale or unit pick environment.
• At least 1 year of experience in customer relationship management, staff leadership, and setting objectives required.
• Experience leading teams, managing performance goals, and supporting cross-functional reporting required.
• Experience creating performance metrics and reporting systems required.
• Experience with inventory management systems such as JDA, Manhattan Warehouse Management System, DMPLUS, SAP, or similar platforms required.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to adjust communication for different audiences.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience managing inventory control activities within a large logistics or distribution operation.
• Experience working with customers and supporting operational improvement projects.
Compensation and Benefits of Inventory Operations Manager:
• Salary range: $70,000 - $115,000.
