Job Overview The Inventory & Margin Analyst plays a pivotal role in optimizing inventory accuracy, analyzing sales performance, and ensuring cost integrity across distribution centers and food service locations. Combining supply chain analytics with core financial and accounting principles, this role leverages NetSuite ERP and Power BI to evaluate gross margins, COGS, inventory valuation, and weekly sales metrics. The analyst acts as a key cross-functional partner to Procurement, Logistics, Warehouse, and Finance teams to drive continuous improvement and supply chain efficiency. Supervisory Responsibilities: This position does not have supervisory responsibilities. Key Responsibilities: Executive & Sales Reporting: Extract and transform NetSuite ERP data into interactive Power BI dashboards to deliver weekly sales performance, gross margin, and operational insights to executive management. Financial & Cost Accounting Oversight: Apply core accounting and finance principles to manage inventory valuation, analyze Cost of Goods Sold (COGS), track gross margins, and perform ledger variance analysis. Inventory Reconciliation & Accuracy: Lead daily monitoring and reconciliation of inventory across multiple distribution centers, conducting root-cause analysis on adjustments to ensure ledger and ERP data integrity. Cycle Counting & Audits: Develop, implement, and oversee cycle count programs and physical inventory audits, establishing SOPs and performing count-to-ledger reconciliations. Supply Chain & Sales Optimization: Evaluate turnover rates, sales trends, and stock movement to identify top-selling and slow-moving items, reducing carrying costs and improving working capital. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Procurement, Logistics, Warehouse, and Operations teams to maintain optimal stock levels, support new product launches, and uphold FIFO/FEFO compliance. System Enhancements & Process Improvement: Support NetSuite ERP enhancements, inventory module testing, and continuous optimization of automated Power BI reporting structures. Competencies: Analytical Thinking: Strong ability to model complex datasets, interpret operational/financial trends, and derive actionable business strategies. Attention to Detail & Accuracy: High level of precision in handling financial ledgers, auditing counts, and performing root-cause reconciliation. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Effective partnership across Supply Chain, Operations, and Finance teams to align on goals and resolve discrepancies. Process Improvement & Accountability: Proactive drive to enhance workflows, optimize carrying costs, and take ownership of inventory integrity. Communication: Effectively conveys information to technical and non-technical stakeholders. Required Skills/Abilities: Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and data modeling. Strong proficiency in ERP systems (NetSuite preferred) and inventory management modules. Ability to create dashboards and reports using Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools. Strong mathematical and statistical aptitude. Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Proficiency in written and verbal communication, with ability to present findings clearly to stakeholders. Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision as well as collaboratively in team environments. Knowledge of lean practices, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies is a plus. Ability to interpret technical documentation and translate into actionable operational processes. Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business, Finance, or a related field. Minimum of 0-2 years of experience in inventory management, demand planning, or supply chain analytics, preferably in the food service or distribution industry.
