Role Overview The Inventory/ Manufacturing Clerk supports manufacturing operations by maintaining accurate inventory records and assisting with manufacturing time studies. This role helps ensure material availability for production while collecting and documenting labor and process timing data to support efficiency, cost analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a manufacturing environment, has strong attention to detail, and is interested in both inventory control and production process analysis. Key Responsibilities Inventory Control Receive, inspect, and verify raw materials, components, and supplies against purchase orders Record inventory transactions in the ERP or inventory management system Issue materials to production based on work orders and bills of materials Maintain accurate inventory levels for raw materials, work-in-process, and finished goods Perform cycle counts and assist with physical inventory audits Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies Organize, label, and store materials in designated locations Manufacturing Time Studies Assist engineers or supervisors in conducting manufacturing time studies Observe production processes and record labor, machine, and cycle times Collect and document data related to work methods, delays, and process flow Enter time study data into spreadsheets or manufacturing systems Maintain accuracy and confidentiality of production and labor data Support continuous improvement, labor standards, and cost analysis efforts Coordination & Compliance Communicate with Production, Engineering, Planning, and Quality teams to support material and data needs Follow safety, quality, and housekeeping standards (5S, ISO, GMP, as applicable) Assist with special projects related to inventory optimization and process improvement Qualifications Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or associate degree preferred Previous experience in manufacturing, inventory control, or production support preferred Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and workflows Experience with ERP systems and Microsoft Excel preferred Ability to read and interpret work orders, routings, and bills of materials Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy Effective written and verbal communication skills Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented manufacturing environment Physical And Work Environment Requirements This position is based in a manufacturing environment and may require the following over extended periods of time up to a full 8-hour work shift (excluding lunch and breaks): stand, walk, sit, squat or bend, kneel and rise, lift, carry, push, or pull materials and equipment weighing up to — and occasionally exceeding — 50 pounds, view a computer or other digital screen, work on a computer, workstation or comparable system, and make accurate entries in such systems. Manual dexterity and fine motor skills are required for detailed assembly and precision work. Work may take place in areas with varying temperatures or no climate control, varying noise levels, and production equipment in motion. Proper personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn in designated areas at all times as required by company policy.
