Star Island Management CorpThe Inventory Manager controls the inventory of materials and goods for Star Island Resort. This includes keeping accurate account of all inventory on hand, as well as ordering additional inventory to meet the needs of the business. The inventory manager decides whether a product needs to have additional stock in the warehouse or if it can be ordered on an as-needed basis. The inventory manager is also responsible for hiring and managing inventory clerks to assist them. Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Direct and Administer the policies and procedures established to maintain the inventory of all stock and non-stock items. Oversee daily issues and receipts of items ensuring that the paperwork is completed accurately and in accordance with procedures. Oversee the daily data entry into Sage 100 inventory system for all receipts and issues, verify accuracy prior to submitting paperwork to accounting. Prepare billing for those items issued from inventory and submit invoices to accounting. Direct and administer the receiving of all non-stock inventory items and ensure the delivery to appropriate departments. Negotiate the best price and quality on all purchases relating to the inventory stock or specials orders as needed or requested by departments. Maintain an accurate open purchase order file so that all items are verified as they are received by the inventory department. Act as a liaison between departments and buyers and determine obsolete stock while optimizing inventory turnover. Administer the physical count of inventory periodically utilizing a cycle inventory count or full counts at designated period ends and submit the reports to accounting for review and their reconciliation to the control account. All other duties as assigned. Job Requirements Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to prepare and analyze data figures and transcriptions prepared on and generated by computer. Knowledge of computer accounting programs, math skills as well as budgetary analysis capabilities required. Strong administrative skills, to include business writing, mathematics for basic accounting and knowledge of Microsoft Office programs. You can be expected to stand for long periods of time, as well as bend and twist to locate and count inventory on hand. The position of inventory manager can be physically and mentally demanding. QUALIFICATIONS: A high level of organizational skills is important to succeed in this position. Excellent communication skills are necessary; knowledge of a computerized inventory tracking system is also necessary. EDUCATION AND OR EXPERIENCE: A bachelor's degree in mathematics or inventory management is required in this position or equivalent combination of education and experience five years of work history in the same field.
