Maritime Administration (MARAD)Duties As An Inventory Management Specialist, You Will Conduct shipboard and warehouse supply and logistics audits for compliance with existing contracts, policies, and procedures. Conduct physical inventories and reconcile results in the inventory management software application. Identify excess material and prepare material for offload and shipment. The ideal candidate for this position will possess mid-level inventory and logistics management knowledge and experience with the capability to adeptly apply documented shipboard and warehouse inventory and logistics concepts, principles, and practices, resulting in clear and concise verbal and written inventory and/or logistics posture assessments. Qualifications To meet the minimum qualifications for this position, you must meet either the education or specialized experience requirements for the grade at which you are requesting consideration. To Qualify For The GS-09 On Experience, You Must Have At Least One Year Of Experience Equal Or Equivalent To The GS-07 It Must Include Experience in the application of shipboard supply management, and inventory control of repair parts and consumable material. Experience in material storage and transfer, equipment configuration management, ship allowance list management and processing of excess material. Experience performing shipboard inventories and applying results to the designated inventory management software application. To qualify for the GS-09 on Education alone, you must have 2 years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree or have been awarded a master's or equivalent graduate degree.
