Inventory Management Specialist.
U.S. Army Sustainment CommandDuties Conducts annual (closed) wall-to-wall, scheduled, or cyclic inventories according to army regulation as scheduled/needed. Ensures all data entry transactions such as issuing, receiving, and relocating assets are imputed, thus ensuring an inventory audit trail exists from origin to destination. Oversees shipping and receiving sections within the Supply Support Activity. Ensures all material is properly accounted for, all locations properly labeled, and material is protected from outside elements. Provides technical guidance to employees on proper use of Logistics Information Systems, storage procedures, inventory procedures, hazardous material procedures, turn-in procedures, and property accountability. Serves as a Point of Contact (POC) between customers, specialists, and the contracting officer. Requirements Conditions of employment Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation. Incumbent must obtain and maintain a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI)/T1. Position requires a Pre-Employment Physical. This position is covered by the civilian drug abuse testing program. This position is subject to a pre-employment screening, and random testing thereafter. Incumbent is required to sign a DA form 5019-R, and/or DA form 7412 "Condition of employment for certain civilian positions identified as critical under the drug abuse testing program," or a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). This position is covered by the 1996 Lautenberg Amendment to the Gun Control Act of 1968. Persons convicted of a misdemeanor or felony crime of domestic violence are not eligible for the position. Performs duties which involve surveillance and/or handling of hazardous waste. Must complete the introductory course in hazardous waste management within six months of being assigned to this position and attend annual refresher course. Subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315. While in probationary period, the incumbent can be terminated with limited appeal rights.
