The Role
The Inventory Lead / Assistant Manager is the right hand to the Inventory Manager and the day-to-day owner of stock accuracy on the warehouse floor. You'll lead receiving, put-away, cycle counts, and inventory control in our Dallas warehouse, and step in to run the floor when the manager is out. This is a player-coach role: you'll be hands-on with the product and the system every day while directing a small team and holding them to a high standard of accuracy.
What You'll Do
• Lead daily inventory operations: receiving, put-away, replenishment, bin and location management, and returns
• Plan and run cycle counts and periodic physical inventories; investigate variances to root cause and drive them to zero
• Keep on-hand quantities in our ERP (Zoho) accurate and in sync with what is physically on the shelf
• Verify inbound shipments against POs and packing slips; flag shortages, overages, and damages to Purchasing and vendors
• Assign work, train, and coach warehouse associates; set clear expectations and follow up on performance
• Support the Inventory Manager with scheduling, reporting, and process improvements; act as the lead on the floor in their absence
• Enforce barcode scanning, location discipline, and SOPs so every inventory movement is recorded
• Track and report inventory accuracy, shrink, adjustments, and aging or slow-moving stock
• Coordinate with Sales, Purchasing, and Fulfillment so stock availability is correct for walk-in customers and online channels
• Maintain a safe, organized, compliant warehouse, including proper handling and storage of age-restricted tobacco, vape, and convenience products
What You Bring
• Detail-obsessed and process-driven; you notice when a count is off and can't leave it alone
• Comfortable leading people on the floor, giving direct feedback, and holding a team accountable
• Hands-on and willing to pick, pack, and count alongside the team when needed
• Strong with Excel/Google Sheets and inventory reports
• Clear communicator across Operations, Purchasing, Sales, and Fulfillment
• Organized and calm in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
Requirements
Required
• 21+ (required to handle tobacco/vape/convenience products)
• Legally authorized to work in the United States
• 1+ years in warehouse operations or inventory control, with at least 1 year in a lead, supervisor, or assistant manager capacity
• Hands-on experience with cycle counts, receiving, and stock reconciliation
• Experience with an ERP, WMS, or inventory system, plus RF/barcode scanners
• Able to stand for full shifts and lift up to 50 lbs, with or without reasonable accommodation
• Reliable commute to our Dallas, TX warehouse
Preferred
• Experience in vape, tobacco, convenience, or distribution/wholesale
• Exposure to Zoho Inventory, Zoho Books, or a comparable ERP (NetSuite, SAP, Fishbowl)
• Experience writing SOPs and training new hires
