Vaco by HighspringInventory Item Master Specialist Onsite in Pasadena, TX-77505 About the Role We are seeking an Inventory Item Master Specialist to support the accuracy, consistency, and governance of inventory master data across multiple repair facilities, service locations, and warehouses. This position will be responsible for creating, maintaining, and improving inventory item records within the organization's ERP system. The ideal candidate will have experience with item master data, inventory management, ERP systems, data quality, and inventory classification. You will work closely with Supply Chain, Procurement, Operations, Finance, Billing, Warehouse, and IT teams to ensure inventory information is accurate, standardized, and readily available to support purchasing, inventory planning, warehouse operations, billing, and reporting. Responsibilities: Item Master Data Management Create and maintain inventory item and SKU records within the ERP system. Review requests for new item creation and validate information before setup. Ensure consistent item descriptions, naming conventions, classifications, and attributes. Identify and prevent duplicate item creation. Update item records as products, suppliers, or business requirements change. Manage discontinued, obsolete, superseded, and replacement items. Data Quality & Governance Maintain inventory master data standards and governance procedures. Conduct regular audits of item master records. Identify and correct duplicate, inactive, obsolete, or inaccurate records. Validate item attributes and specifications for completeness and accuracy. Develop and maintain exception reports to identify data inconsistencies. Support standardization of inventory data across multiple locations and business units. Inventory Classification & Catalog Management Maintain inventory hierarchies, categories, and product classifications. Support the development of standardized item catalogs and item families. Maintain manufacturer and vendor cross-reference information. Manage units of measure and applicable conversions. Support regulatory and safety-related item classifications when applicable. ERP & Systems Support Serve as a subject matter expert for inventory master data processes. Support ERP implementations, upgrades, enhancements, and system improvements. Participate in system testing and validation activities. Support barcode and inventory-control system initiatives. Assist with maintaining item-related system interfaces and data integrations. Inventory Optimization Support inventory rationalization and SKU cleanup initiatives. Identify opportunities to standardize inventory items and reduce duplicates Assist with identifying obsolete and inactive inventory records. Develop inventory data reports and support KPI tracking. Provide data and analysis to support inventory optimization initiatives. Cross-Functional Collaboration Partner with Procurement on new suppliers and product setup. Work with Operations and Warehouse teams to understand inventory requirements. Collaborate with Finance to support inventory data accuracy. Coordinate with Billing teams to ensure material information supports customer invoicing. Provide support to field and branch personnel regarding item setup and maintenance. Minimum Requirements: 3-5 years of experience in inventory management, master data, purchasing, warehouse operations, materials management, or ERP administration. Hands-on experience maintaining ERP item/SKU master records. Strong understanding of inventory data quality and data validation. Experience with inventory classification, item attributes, and product/material catalogs. Strong Microsoft Excel skills. Excellent attention to detail and analytical ability. Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills. Preferred Associate or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Information Systems, Finance, Operations, or a related field.
