Inventory Coordinator and Backup Cook

Job Purpose: The Inventory Coordinator / Backup Cook for Meals on Wheels at LIFECARE ALLIANCE is responsible for managing food and supply inventory, receiving and storing products, processing and reconciling invoices, and maintaining accurate inventory records to ensure efficient operation and service delivery. Key Responsibilities: Monitor and maintain inventory levels for all food and supplies to ensure sufficient stock for daily operations. Oversee the receipt of products, ensuring deliveries match invoices and expected quantities. Review invoices for accuracy and completeness, addressing discrepancies promptly. Serve as the backup cook when the Lead Cook is absent or unavailable, ensuring continuity in meal preparation and service. Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operational flow and adherence to food safety standards. Maintain organized and accurate inventory records, facilitating easy access and retrieval of information. Participate in inventory audits and implement corrective actions as needed to maintain inventory integrity. Assist in the development and implementation of inventory management strategies to optimize stock levels and reduce waste. Required Education: High school diploma or equivalent Preferred Education: Associate degree or relevant certification preferred Required Experience: Experience in monitoring and maintaining inventory levels Experience in overseeing receipt of products and ensuring deliveries match invoices and expected quantities Experience in reviewing invoices for accuracy and completeness Experience in serving as a backup cook when the Lead Cook is absent or unavailable Preferred Experience: Previous experience in inventory management, food production, institutional cooking, or a related field preferred Commercial kitchen or large-volume cooking experience preferred Experience operating large-capacity cooking equipment, including commercial kettles, preferred Required Skills and Abilities: Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Basic understanding of invoices Ability to read and follow standardized recipes and large-batch production instructions
