Inventory Control & Warehouse Operations Manager

We're looking for an experienced Warehouse & Inventory Control Manager to lead our Penn Randall Warehouse in Upper Marlboro, Maryland, while overseeing inventory accuracy and control standards across our warehouse network. This is a hands-on leadership opportunity for someone who knows how to run an efficient warehouse, develop a strong team, and build inventory processes that deliver measurable results. You'll lead a team of 10 to 20 employees, oversee daily warehouse operations, and take ownership of companywide inventory accuracy. Your work will directly support our installation teams, customer commitments, and continued operational growth. What You'll Do Lead and Develop a High-Performing Team Manage and develop a warehouse team of 10 to 20 employees, including Warehouse Leads, Administrators, Warehouse Workers, and Drivers. Establish clear expectations for productivity, accuracy, safety, and accountability. Coach and develop team leads to independently manage daily operations. Oversee the Inventory Control Specialist responsible for supporting our Virginia warehouse locations. Build a culture focused on teamwork, safety, continuous improvement, and operational excellence. Own Daily Warehouse Operations Oversee receiving, storage, picking, staging, loading, and material transfers. Ensure installation and service crews receive complete, accurate materials on schedule. Improve warehouse workflows, space utilization, and equipment readiness. Resolve inventory shortages, damaged materials, and fulfillment issues before they impact customer installations. Coordinate material movement between Thompson Creek locations and third-party warehouses. Drive Companywide Inventory Accuracy Take ownership of inventory accuracy and data integrity across all Thompson Creek inventory. Manage cycle counts, physical inventories, reconciliations, and inventory adjustments. Maintain accurate inventory records in SAP and related warehouse systems. Identify discrepancies, investigate root causes, and implement lasting corrective actions. Monitor inventory performance through KPIs, including accuracy, shrink, aging, and inventory turns. Improve Processes and Operational Performance Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for warehouse and inventory operations. Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and strengthen inventory controls. Partner with Supply Chain, Procurement, Project Management, Installation, and Finance teams to support business needs. Maintain compliance with safety standards, equipment requirements, and inventory controls. Use reporting and operational data to drive decisions and measurable improvements. What You Bring Required Qualifications At least 5 years of experience in inventory control or inventory management within a warehouse, distribution, or manufacturing environment. Proven experience supervising hourly warehouse employees and leading daily operations. Hands-on experience implementing inventory systems, standard operating procedures, and inventory control processes. Strong understanding of cycle counting, inventory reconciliation, warehouse workflows, and inventory accuracy. Experience using warehouse management systems or inventory software, with the ability to learn SAP. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel for inventory reporting and analysis. Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Valid driver's license and ability to obtain DOT certification while meeting company fleet insurability requirements.
