Job Overview: 

Responsible for leading, maintaining and overseeing inventory control activities for the Kits division. A major component of this position involves ensuring and implementing best business practices for inventory management

 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Contribute to the execution of the company’s long-term plan (LTP) within the Logistics and Supply Chain department o Oversee the overall inventory management process, defining departmental strategies for achieving inventory accuracy targets, minimizing obsolete and off-spec material, and reducing aging material o Establish operational procedures for verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, production consumption and output, handling and disposition of materials and keeping warehouse inventory current
  • Motivate, organize and encourage teamwork within the department to ensure set productivity targets are met o Provide supervision to direct reports (Inventory Control Analysts and Inventory Control Clerks), outlining expectations and providing performance management feedback where necessary o Align with KPI alignment for department
  • Gather, analyze, manage, and generate timely, periodic reporting of adjustment results, provision and at-risk items and general inventory health. o Ensure month end procedures are executed and the accurate balances are reported. o Prepare, lead and execute annual physical counts ensuring proper auditable results, liaising with Finance o Challenge the status quo by developing and recommending modification to existing processes and methodologies with a constant focus on continuous improvement
  • Work closely with Buyers/Replenishers, Accounting and Operations team members to ensure accurate inventory records are maintained. o Liaise with replenishers, schedulers/planners, receivers, accounts payable and accounts receivable to resolve inventory related issues o Manage the inventory Control for both Finish Goods and Raw Materials by maintaining inventory data integrity and tracking accuracy of inventory
  • Actively live and role model our Leadership competencies by holding self and team (including all direct report ‘people leaders’) accountable for creating a positive work environment and culture through administration of our People Processes and Tools.
  • Performance Management: Ensure proper onboarding and development of all staff by completing induction process, coaching and developing capabilities, executing PDP start/mid-year dialogues, and engaging in corrective action when required ·
  • Talent & Succession: Ensure job vacancies are filled by completing the required processes and representing the company with integrity throughout the recruitment process ·
  • Training: Ensure completion of function compliance training ·
  • Engagement: Ensure an engaged workforce through development of sound working relationships and execution of Employee Survey action plans with support from the Director of Logistics · Company Values (RDQAS): Ensure teams model our Company values and hold others accountable for the same.

 

Recipe for Success: 

  • Completion of college diploma in Cost Accounting, Supply Chain and/or Operations or a related field
  • Completion of university degree in Cost Accounting, Supply Chain Management or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years previous experience in a broad supply chain role leading a team and working with inventory tracking system
  • Minimum 3 years previous experience working in the Food Manufacturing industry
  • Knowledge of food manufacturing and high-speed packaging, as well as Bakery Manufacturing including ingredients
  • Knowledge of basic manufacturing and inventory management concepts, Inventory Receipts, Bills of Materials, Production orders, and basic Inventory management principles. · 
  • Strong leadership skills including building strong relationships
  • Able to perform financial calculations and create and manage budgets
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written; strong listening skills).
  • Strong judgement, analysis and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make decisions
  • Good ability to motivate and empower team members by providing feedback and recognition · Strong computer systems (MS Office, ERP systems)
  • Ability to prioritize demands in a fast-paced work environment
