About the Role: The Inventory Control Supervisor plays a critical role in ensuring the accuracy, efficiency, and integrity of inventory management processes within the organization. This position is responsible for overseeing inventory control activities, including monitoring stock levels, coordinating audits, and implementing best practices to minimize discrepancies and losses. The supervisor will lead a team to maintain optimal inventory accuracy, support operational needs, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. By analyzing inventory data and collaborating with cross-functional teams, the Inventory Control Supervisor helps drive informed decision-making and supports overall supply chain effectiveness. Ultimately, this role ensures that inventory assets are properly accounted for, safeguarded, and aligned with business objectives. Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field preferred. Minimum of 3 years of experience in inventory control or warehouse management, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role. Proficiency with inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to analyze data and generate actionable insights. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related discipline. Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or NetSuite. Certification in inventory management or supply chain (e.g., APICS CPIM). Demonstrated experience leading teams in a fast-paced warehouse or distribution environment. Knowledge of Lean or Six Sigma methodologies to support process improvements. Responsibilities: Supervise daily inventory control operations to ensure accurate tracking and reporting of stock levels across multiple locations. Lead and train inventory control staff, providing guidance and support to maintain high performance and adherence to company policies. Conduct regular physical inventory counts and cycle counts, investigating and resolving discrepancies promptly. Collaborate with procurement, warehouse, and finance teams to optimize inventory processes and support demand forecasting. Develop and implement inventory control procedures and best practices to improve accuracy and reduce shrinkage. Prepare detailed inventory reports and present findings to management to inform strategic planning. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company standards in all inventory handling activities. Skills: The Inventory Control Supervisor utilizes strong analytical skills daily to monitor inventory levels, identify trends, and resolve discrepancies efficiently. Leadership and communication skills are essential for managing and motivating the inventory team, ensuring clear understanding of procedures and expectations. Proficiency with inventory management software and data analysis tools enables the supervisor to generate accurate reports and support decision-making processes. Organizational skills are critical for coordinating audits, scheduling counts, and maintaining compliance with company policies and safety standards. Additionally, problem-solving abilities help the supervisor implement continuous improvements that enhance inventory accuracy and operational efficiency.
