Doc's DieselTitle: Inventory Control Specialist Location: On-Site (Bryan, OH) Type: Full-time Hours: Monday - Friday, 7:00AM - 3:30PM Reports To: Operations Manager Job Summary The Inventory Control Specialist is a hands-on, on-site role responsible for maintaining inventory accuracy throughout the Doc's Diesel warehouses. Working closely with the Warehouse Execution Supervisor and the Shipping/Receiving team, this position ensures all incoming, stored, and outgoing inventory is accurately tracked in Descartes Peoplevox and NetSuite and properly handled on the floor. The role is central to preventing inventory discrepancies, and if there is one, identifying and fixing the root cause. Doc’s is in a true scaling phase. Key Responsibilities Maintain accurate inventory records across Descartes Peoplevox (WMS), NetSuite, and physical warehouse locations. Perform scheduled cycle counts and own full physical inventory audits. Investigate, document, and resolve inventory discrepancies, shortages, and damages. Identify root causes of discrepancies (receiving errors, mispicks, bin errors, system sync issues) and recommend process fixes. Alongside the Receiving team, verify incoming shipments for accuracy. Track inventory movement using handheld computers, laptop, and our warehouse management system. Operate warehouse equipment, including forklifts and pallet jacks, safely (required) Communicate inventory issues, trends, and process improvement opportunities to the Operations Manager Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area. Follow safety standards and ensure compliance of OHSA regulation. Demonstrate strong commitment to safety, quality, environmental awareness, and continuous process improvement. Assist with special projects and support cross-functional teams Qualifications Experience in inventory control Experience performing cycle counts, inventory audits, or resolving inventory discrepancies Computer skills with the ability to use inventory and warehouse management systems Familiarity with hand scanners or barcode systems Forklift experience or certification preferred (or willingness to obtain) Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-through Ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively in a fast-paced warehouse environment Reliable, dependable, and able to work on-site daily Physical Demands and Work Environment Lifting: Regularly lift and move items up to 50 lbs; team lift or material handling equipment used for heavier loads. Standing/Walking/Sitting: Standing and walking for the majority of an 8-hour shift. Occasional sitting for computer work at a desk. Driving: We have 2 other warehouses that hold inventory, located within 1.5 miles of HQ. Operation of forklifts as required. Work Environment: Warehouse environment with seasonal temperature variation and moderate noise from equipment and material handling. Repetitive Motions: Frequent scanning, reaching, bending, and lifting associated with cycle counting.
