TOC Logistics is seeking a detail oriented and analytical Inventory Control Specialist to join our operations team at our Hunter Valley site. You'll own the inventory count schedule, investigate and resolve variances, and keep inventory status accurate and up to date in SAP and our WMS. This role sits at the centre of our warehouse operations. Accurate inventory drives on time, in full delivery for our clients, and you'll work alongside Receiving, Material Handlers, and our Inventory Analyst to find the root cause of discrepancies and fix them quickly. You'll also have the opportunity to spot where our processes and controls can improve, and help put those improvements in place. Success in this position is defined by accuracy, timeliness, and clear communication. Role Purpose Assess inventory counts, variances, status, reconciliation, and consolidation, and communicate and report results while working to resolve issues daily. This role meets ongoing warehouse operational needs by keeping inventory accurate and well managed, preventing the inefficiencies, inaccuracies, and KPI misses that result when inventory is not controlled properly. Key Responsibilities Inventory Counts and Reconciliation Research, schedule, and reconcile daily inventory count assignments Own the inventory count schedule and ensure daily and monthly cycle count targets are met Assign count work or actively count to keep the schedule on track Investigate, adjust, and report variances, reviewing and discussing results as needed Reconcile and close monthly inventory discrepancies Systems and Reporting Use SAP and the WMS to review reports and data, keeping cycle counts and inventory status accurate and up to date Communicate results, risks, and implications to the Manager of Operations Maintain a high standard of data accuracy and documentation discipline Process Improvement Analyze current processes and controls and identify opportunities for improvement Plan time and resources effectively to complete tasks and meet deadlines Plan and lead team discussions on inventory results and improvements Collaboration Partner with Receiving to troubleshoot inventory issues and variances Work with the Inventory Analyst on counts, variance resolution, and reporting Coordinate count support with Material Handlers and day to day inventory administration with Administrative Support Follow up with external contractors to resolve discrepancies Take part in occasional meetings and discussions with clients as needed What Success Looks Like 0 to 3 Months Learn our processes and systems and build relationships with the teams Build a solid understanding of our systems and inventory principles Become comfortable using warehouse MHE, including reach equipment and WMS scanners Ask questions and begin mapping key performance improvement ideas Show early wins through quick results, a clear understanding of the role, and a plan to act on identified opportunities 3 to 6 Months Fully reach targets and results, completing tasks and reconciling inventory monthly Complete the count process and troubleshoot issues with minimal to no support Own the process and tasks, managing to the schedule while proactively improving processes and results Consistently meet KPI targets 6 to 12 Months Operate efficiently and effectively, with all targets and reports meeting standards Manage a fixed schedule volume at a timely pace, meeting monthly completion targets Maintain inventory accuracy and cycle count schedule adherence to target, supporting OTIF performance Manage all systems, workflows, and reporting confidently and independently…
