Job Summary We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Inventory Control Specialist to join our dynamic supply chain team. In this vital role, you will oversee the accuracy and efficiency of inventory management processes across warehouse operations, ensuring optimal stock levels and seamless product flow. Your expertise in warehouse distribution, data analytics, and supply chain management will drive process improvements, support procurement strategies, and enhance overall inventory visibility. Duties Monitor and maintain accurate inventory levels using warehouse management systems (WMS) and enterprise resource planning (ERP) software such as AS400 or SAP. Conduct regular data mining and analysis to identify discrepancies, root causes of inventory variances, and opportunities for process improvement. Collaborate with procurement, merchandising, and logistics teams to optimize sourcing strategies, pricing models, and stocking plans. Perform demand planning and forecasting using tools like Power BI, Tableau, or Nielsen data to support supply chain analytics. Manage materials handling activities including shipping & receiving, order fulfillment, and materials management to ensure timely delivery and stock availability. Lead root cause analysis for inventory discrepancies or stockouts, implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence. Negotiate with suppliers and 3PL providers to improve service levels, reduce costs, and strengthen supplier relationships through effective contract management. Utilize data visualization tools for reporting on inventory performance metrics, supply chain efficiency, and logistics inventory management. Support warehouse operations by coordinating with cross-functional teams on process improvements related to demand planning, production scheduling, and materials handling. Assist in financial analysis related to inventory valuation, pricing strategies, and procurement costs to maximize profitability. Qualifications Proven experience in warehouse distribution, warehouse management systems (WMS), or supply chain analytics within a fast-paced environment. Strong data analysis skills with proficiency in Excel data analysis, spreadsheets, Power BI, Tableau or similar visualization tools. Knowledge of procurement processes, sourcing strategies, contracts negotiation, and supplier management experience. Technical proficiency with ERP systems such as AS400 or SAP; familiarity with MRP (Material Requirements Planning) systems is preferred. Hands-on experience with inventory management software and materials handling equipment including forklift operation certification is a plus. Excellent analytical skills with the ability to perform root cause analysis and implement process improvements effectively. Strong cross-functional communication skills to collaborate across departments such as logistics, merchandising, production planning, and retail management. Ability to handle heavy lifting when required during materials handling activities; familiarity with shipping & receiving procedures is advantageous. Basic math skills for financial modeling related to inventory valuation and demand forecasting; experience with Nielsen or other retail data sources is beneficial.
