Role and Responsibilities of Inventory Control Manager:
You will provide strategic leadership and operational direction for inventory control activities while supporting commercial and operational goals. This role focuses on improving inventory accuracy, developing best practices, managing customer relationships, and driving continuous improvement across inventory management processes.
• Lead inventory control strategies that support customer service agreements and operational objectives.
• Develop and maintain processes that improve inventory accuracy, accountability, reporting, and asset management.
• Create proactive strategies to identify, prevent, and resolve inventory control risks and operational challenges.
• Establish innovative approaches for analyzing inventory data and improving inventory planning methods.
• Ensure inventory control key performance indicators are achieved according to commercial requirements.
• Monitor customer inventory accuracy, shrink requirements, and service level agreements while providing timely reporting.
• Optimize inventory processes and systems to maintain proper control, accuracy, and effective use of technology.
• Provide required documentation for customer, financial, and regulatory audit requirements.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and operational partners to support continuous improvement.
• Manage site associates, including performance reviews, development plans, succession planning, and team engagement.
• Communicate and enforce company policies while maintaining a safe, secure, clean, and fair work environment.
• Support employee retention efforts and provide leadership in managing team performance.
Required Skills and Experience of Inventory Control Manager:
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with 4 years of inventory control experience required.
• 3+ years of logistics industry experience required.
• 3+ years of management experience required, preferably in a unit pick environment or large company setting.
• 1+ years of client relationship management, staff management, and objective-setting experience required.
• Experience with staff management, performance objectives, and cross-functional leadership reporting required.
• Experience developing metrics and reporting processes required.
• Knowledge of inventory management systems such as JDA, Manhattan Warehouse Management System, DMPLUS, SAP, or similar platforms required.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications required.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to adapt communication to different audiences.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience managing inventory control operations within a large-scale logistics or distribution environment.
• Experience supporting customer relationships and operational improvement initiatives.
Compensation and Benefits of Inventory Control Manager:
• National salary range: $70,000 - $115,000.
