Position Overview: This position is responsible for the planning, organizing, monitoring, scheduling and controlling all activities of raw materials, maintains records and reports for the Paint Room and oversees the Receiving Department. Duties and responsibilities Maintains accurate stock balances for all parts and materials. Maintains inventory and overstock areas and dead stock. Responsible for inventory count. Manages the flow for the Paint Room (material to be painted). Oversees the Receiving Department, (forklift operators and drivers). Partners with Plant Manager to route all work orders. Communicates all inventory needs to Purchasing. Maintains direct contact with outside service vendors. Ensures inventory is maintained by updating the system so that stock quantities and locations are known at all times. Provides material status, schedules and reports to management. Issues materials as requested in a timely manner. Receives all incoming shipments and ensures the material is counted and signed off. Matches up packing slips with purchase orders. Ensures all material is put away in a timely manner. Packages and ships parts and products. Arranges freight transportation for machines and large orders. Timely investigation and resolution of all receiving queries and errors Timely verification and reporting of all claims for supplier shortages and or damages reported to Purchasing (within 3 days of receipt). Conduct root cause analysis for inventory differences where applicable. Timely and accurate monthly reconciliation of inventory Timely and accurate spot checks of cycle counts and resolution of differences. Timely follow up of negative inventory balances with purpose of identifying and resolving the cause. Disposes of surplus non-conforming material and scrap in an approved manner. (Upon approval) Other duties as required. Qualifications 3-5 years experience with material handling and inventory control in a manufacturing environment, Window Industry experience an asset Post Secondary Education or equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Strong multi-tasking ability and ability to work with many different departments Able and willing to operate forklift and other heavy-lifting machinery Proficient with database management, email and other computer software Dependable Flexible Highly organized and detailed Able to lift up to 50 lbs An Engineering background is a definite asset
