Inventory Control and Materials Manager

Job Summary We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Inventory Control and Materials Manager to oversee inventory accuracy, material flow, and logistics within our manufacturing operation. This role is essential in ensuring materials are received, tracked, organized, and available to support daily production requirements. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational and multitasking skills, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Experience with Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems is a plus. The successful candidate will help maintain accurate inventory records, coordinate incoming materials, and ensure efficient material management to support production schedules and operational goals. Duties Manage and coordinate the flow of all incoming materials, ensuring deliveries are received, documented, and directed to the appropriate locations. Perform accurate weekly physical inventories and reconcile discrepancies between physical counts and inventory records. Maintain organized and up-to-date inventory records to ensure accurate material tracking and reporting. Monitor inventory levels and communicate material shortages, discrepancies, or potential supply issues to the appropriate departments. Coordinate material receiving, inspection, storage, and organization to ensure materials are readily accessible when needed. Oversee material logistics to support production schedules and minimize delays caused by material shortages or receiving issues. Ensure incoming materials are properly identified, labeled, documented, and stored in designated locations. Work closely with production, purchasing, and other departments to coordinate material requirements and maintain an efficient workflow. Investigate inventory discrepancies and implement corrective actions to improve inventory accuracy and accountability. Maintain accurate inventory paperwork, receiving documents, and other required records. Manage multiple tasks and priorities while meeting inventory deadlines and operational requirements. Identify opportunities to improve inventory control procedures, material handling, and overall organizational efficiency. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe inventory and materials storage area. Experience Previous experience in inventory control, materials management, warehouse operations, or a related manufacturing environment is preferred. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are essential. Ability to perform accurate physical inventories and maintain reliable inventory records. Demonstrated ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and manage competing deadlines effectively. Experience coordinating incoming materials, deliveries, receiving activities, and material logistics is preferred. Familiarity with Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems or inventory management software is a plus. Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with production, purchasing, and management teams. Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate discrepancies and resolve inventory-related issues. Ability to maintain accurate paperwork, follow established procedures, and keep inventory areas organized. 8-10+ years of materials manager experience.
