Inventory Clerk - Shipping and Receiving

Job Summary: The Shipping/Receiving/Inventory Clerk accurately unloads, receives, and accounts for incoming and outgoing material. This position is responsible for unloading truck shipments, verifying shipment contents, and conducting electronic capture of goods/materials into the system. This position is responsible for all activities related to tracking, maintaining and organizing inventory in the ERP system. Job Responsibilities/Duties: Shipping & Receiving Unload incoming trucks at the dock using a forklift, pallet jack, or two-wheel dolly. Receive, unpack, and inspect incoming shipments for accuracy and damage. Verify received items against packing slips and purchase orders, and resolve discrepancies. Maintain and file receiving documents, including packing lists and purchase orders. Material Handling & Distribution Match materials to assigned job numbers and distribute them to the appropriate departments promptly. Stock electrical parts on shelves the same day they arrive. Relocate inventory within the warehouse as needed. Label, organize, and maintain shelving, pallets, and wire and conduit racks. Stack and label pallets; dispose of packaging materials and trash in the dumpster or compactor. Inventory Control & Kit Assembly Maintain accurate inventory records and strict control of parts. Measure and pre-cut wire, conduit, and seal tight to specified lengths. Assemble electrical kits and package ship-loose items for field use, following ship lists and kit lists. Work Environmental & Physical Demand: May stand for long periods of time with very little sit-down time. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. repetitively, as well as frequent twisting and bending, to meet fast paced work demands. Work in various adverse conditions such as tight or enclosed spaces, heights and extreme temperatures. May work inside or outside to complete work assignments. Position requires exposure to dust and dirt. Follow safety standards in working with multiple services, tools and equipment. Minimum Requirements/Experience: Minimum of 6 months of experience in a shop floor or production environment; 1 year of related experience and/or training preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience as determined by the employer. Demonstrated ability to safely operate a forklift, pallet jack, hand truck, and other material handling equipment. Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Must successfully pass a drug screen and background check for employment. Work Environment and Physical Requirements: Standing for extended periods, up to 10–12-hour shifts. Repetitive lifting of materials up to 50 pounds. Exposure to dust, noise, and temperature variations typical of a production facility. Strict adherence to safety procedures when working with electrical components and fabrication tools.
