Inventory and Warehouse Manager

Job Description: Nucentra Solutions is seeking an Inventory and Warehouse Manager to take ownership of the materials that flow through our Dallas facility: receiving, storage, issue to production, tools and consumables and the integrity of information. This is a build role. Nucentra is early in its growth, and the inventory system, warehouse layout and control routines need to be designed, implemented and then executed. The role reports to the plant manager, leads the inventory specialists and warehouse staff, and works every day with the Production Foremen, the Buyer / Planner, Logistics, Quality and Finance. What You Will Own Inventory System and Integrity ● Setup a cost-effective functional inventory management system with leadership and Finance: part master, locations, units of measure, receiving, issue, transfer and scrap transactions, scanning, and reporting. ● Own inventory accuracy. Run cycle counting, reconcile discrepancies to root cause, and put in the controls that stop them recurring. ● Make sure every receipt, issue, transfer, return and scrap is recorded, so the system matches the floor and Finance can rely on the numbers for valuation and period close. ● Report inventory value, accuracy, aging, slow-moving stock and shortages to leadership on a regular cadence. Warehouse, Tools and Consumables ● Run receiving, put-away, storage, kitting and issue of materials and components to production in build sequence. ● Design and maintain the warehouse and yard storage layout, locations, labeling and material handling flow, and scale them as volume grows. ● Manage tools and consumables: the tool crib, issue and return, calibration tracking with Quality, and min/max replenishment levels executed through the Buyer / Planner. ● Handle customer-supplied and overseas-manufactured components with the traceability and care they require: serial and lot records, documentation, damage inspection at receipt and secure storage. ● Keep the warehouse and storage yard safe, clean and organized, working with the HSE team. Team and Interfaces ● Lead, schedule and develop the inventory specialists and warehouse staff. ● Work daily with the Production Foremen on material availability, the Buyer / Planner on requirements and replenishment, Logistics on inbound and outbound moves, Quality on incoming inspection and hold, and Finance on inventory valuation and close. ● Write the procedures and train the organization on them, so transactions happen the right way without the manager standing there. What We Are Looking For ● 3+ years in inventory control or warehouse management in a manufacturing, fabrication or industrial equipment environment, with at least 2 years leading a team. ● Hands-on experience implementing or substantially rebuilding an inventory system: part master, locations, transactions, barcode or scanning, cycle counting. ● A track record of raising inventory record accuracy and keeping it there. ● Experience managing tools, consumables and a tool crib in an industrial setting. ● Working knowledge of receiving inspection, lot and serial traceability, customer-supplied material handling and the basics of inventory valuation. ● Strong Excel and data discipline, and the ability to build reports leadership can rely on. ● Forklift certified or able to be, and comfortable in a yard and on a shop floor. You know that inventory accuracy is a daily discipline, not a year-end count. You are practical about systems.
