Inventory Analyst Mitsui Bussan Logistics Inc. is seeking a responsible professional with a minimum 3 years of Inventory Control and Accounting experience. This position will be responsible for validating the Company’s daily inventory position by monitoring stock levels, inventory activity and adjustments at multiple off – site locations and 3PLs. The position requires a keen appreciation for the value of inventory as an asset of the Company, as well as a key component of supply chain management. The ideal candidate will understand basic inventory control and accounting principles and possess a strong sense of detail and logical thinking. Inventory Control · Systemically monitor daily inventory positions in multiple warehouses and compare with Company’s internal position. · Investigate inventory variances and request validation through cycle counts, activity reports, date code validation, quality hold or damage updates, etc. · Make daily quantity or status adjustments in order to balance the Company’s internal inventory position with that of our warehouses. · Monitor Warehouse EDI on daily basis to ensure there are no errors for warehouses inbound or outbound transactions. · Manage Merchandise in Transit (MIT) position by monitoring shipped vs. received quantities, requesting shipping manifest and POD’s. · Track, monitor and report on variances associated with Warehouse position and MIT. · Communicate problems or variances of inventory to appropriate departments Accounting Administration · Support month end closing through final reconciliation of all inventory position. · Reconcile inventory price variance through system activity report. · Input system adjustments (quantity, value, and status) in order to accurately state our inventory position. · Assist accounting through research and reporting on adjustments associated with book and inventory valuation. · Weekly review and report of Inventory and Category Values by Warehouse Location. · Responsible for inventory transactions to ensure accuracy and posts to the general ledger. · Prepare and review the inventory reconciliation on monthly basis · Perform month end close reconciliation, analysis and review · Assist with annual year-end audit schedules Qualifications · 3 years of inventory control and accounting experience · Excellent and professional written and verbal communication skills required · Experience in inventory control, accounting, and data analysis/data entry. · Strong aptitude for numbers and data analysis, quick learner, problem-solver · Excellent customer service skills · Ability to translate raw data into meaningful management reports · Experience with SAP is highly preferable. · Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint). · Detail oriented, accurate with good organizational and time management skills · Self-starter, highly motivated and results-oriented · Ability to support a highly dynamic product mix · Readiness to cross-train in complimentary positions and provide back-up support where and when needed.
