ManitowocThe Day to Day: In the Purchasing Intern role, you will support data analysis, supplier documentation, sourcing initiatives, and reporting projects while gaining broad exposure to purchasing and supply chain management. You will help the team develop data-driven sourcing strategies and enhance tools that support government-part sourcing, small-business reporting, and operational decision-making. Analyze purchasing data to support part segmentation and the development of sourcing strategies. Collect, organize, and analyze supplier documentation related to tariffs, country of origin, and small-business requirements. Enhance existing analytical tools and dashboards to improve purchasing visibility and reporting. Support the development and maintenance of small-business and COO dashboards. Assist with government-part sourcing and related reporting initiatives. Help expedite requests for quotation (RFQs) for new components and support supplier follow-up. Identify data trends and opportunities that may improve sourcing decisions and purchasing processes. Collaborate with purchasing, supply chain, engineering, and other stakeholders on projects and business needs. Complete additional purchasing and supply chain projects as assigned. Interest in purchasing, strategic sourcing, supply chain management, and data analysis. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to organize and interpret data. Strong attention to detail, organization, follow-through, and time-management skills. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams. Availability to work approximately 40 hours per week, generally from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Availability for the internship period of approximately June 1 through August 20, 2027, with flexibility based on the intern’s school schedule.
