Intermodal Trucking Dispatcher | Detroit, MI (On-site, Full-time)

About us Since 2007, we've been moving freight across the Detroit area, and we're now one of the largest intermodal trucking companies in the market. Our dispatch team is growing, and we're looking for an experienced dispatcher to join us. Most of our loads are intermodal (containers), with some dry van and flatbed. About the role You'll keep loads moving by coordinating drivers, customers, and your teammates, and you'll stay level-headed when plans change. It's a fast-paced job, and the right person will enjoy that. What you'll do Take work orders from customers or coordinate them with our customer service reps and other dispatchers Enter loads into our TMS and keep customer portals up to date Book chassis and submit rail billing Set delivery appointments and dispatch loads to drivers, then follow up to make sure they go as planned Stay in contact with drivers throughout their shifts, help with routing issues, and escalate emergencies to the right people Keep customers informed on delivery status, including any delays Provide quotes to prospective customers and maintain good business relationships Respond to emails and handle other duties as needed What we're looking for At least 1 year of dispatch experience (required) Strong computer and data-entry skills, including email and Microsoft Office Clear, professional communication by phone, email, and in person, even when it's busy Ability to multitask and solve problems quickly Dependable, punctual, and a good fit for a team atmosphere Intermodal, trucking, or driving experience is a plus Familiarity with DOT regulations is a plus High school diploma or equivalent What we offer Competitive pay: starting $55,000/yr.
