Position Summary This role ensures the safe and efficient operations of all drivers each day. The Dispatcher is responsible for utilizing tools and technology to achieve efficient and timely dispatch operations while upholding safety standards and company values. The position leads the dispatch function within a specific geographic scope. The role requires collaboration with internal and external teams to ensure cargo moves efficiently and cost-effectively. It also involves building and maintaining strong relationships with the dispatch team and driving fleet. The Dispatcher will review and address service failures to prevent future issues and ensure corrective action is taken. The Dispatcher must proactively communicate to minimize controllable service exceptions and costs, identify opportunities for appointment adjustments, and coordinate across departments to optimize driver utilization and on-time performance. Expertise in governmental regulatory rules for overweight, out-of-gauge, and hazardous cargo is essential, as well as a proven ability to monitor and meet performance and financial metrics. Efficiently operate dispatch software and utilize technology to streamline dispatch processes. Manage driver relations and communications for both regular business and emergency assistance.
