Intermodal Dispatcher

Bel-Tran Trucking Inc. has an immediate opening for an experienced Drayage & Freight Dispatcher to lead daily container and freight transport operations. We are seeking a proactive, detail-oriented professional to manage container drayage, resolve port and rail trouble tickets, ensure on-time delivery performance, and drive efficient carrier operations. Job Description Direct daily dispatch operations for import/export container drayage , as well as dry van and flatbed loads. Actively resolve port, terminal, and rail trouble tickets , demurrage issues, and equipment holds to keep freight moving. Monitor driver movement and load status to maximize fleet utilization and guarantee strict on-time delivery for customers. Input operational data accurately into company systems and maintain real-time tracking across all shipments. Collaborate closely with Sales, Safety & Maintenance, and Accounting departments to ensure seamless operations and achieve company goals. Maintain daily, effective communication with CDL Class A drivers to resolve route challenges and coordinate port runs. Job Requirements Intermodal & Drayage Focus: Minimum 2 years of dedicated port, terminal, and container drayage dispatch experience. Driver & Problem-Solving Skills: Proven experience managing CDL Class A drivers and resolving real-time terminal/rail trouble tickets efficiently. Port & Rail Familiarity: Strong working knowledge of local port and rail logistics, including Bayport, Barbours Cut, BNSF , and regional terminal operations. Technical Skills: Proficiency with TMS (Transportation Management Software) required. Experience with PortPro and Samsara is a strong plus. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel ) and fast/accurate 10-Key data entry . Compliance & Logistics: Knowledgeable in DOT, Federal, state, and local commercial carrier regulations. Work Style: High attention to detail, strong performance on on-time delivery metrics , and comfortable in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. Languages: Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus, but not required.
