Intermodal Dispatcher

Pivot Intermodal is looking for an experienced Intermodal Dispatcher to join our team. We need someone who understands intermodal operations, can manage drivers and loads throughout the day, and knows how to stay ahead of issues before they become problems. This position requires someone who is organized, dependable, able to work under pressure, and comfortable communicating directly with both drivers and customers. Competitive compensation based on experience Responsibilities Manage day-to-day intermodal dispatch operations Assign loads and coordinate driver schedules based on appointments, availability, and customer needs Monitor drivers and loads throughout the day to make sure pickups and deliveries stay on schedule Communicate with customers regarding load status, delays, issues, and special instructions Monitor container availability, appointments, last free days, cutoffs, and return requirements Create Fast Pass requests, equipment releases, and dispatch paperwork Coordinate container pickups and empty returns Stay ahead of potential delays and make adjustments when plans change Work with CSRs, and other departments when issues come up Keep drivers updated with clear and accurate dispatch information Train and assist other dispatch staff as needed Maintain a high level of customer service Requirements Minimum 1 years of intermodal dispatching experience Strong understanding of port operations, containers, chassis, and intermodal equipment Ability to manage multiple drivers and loads at the same time Ability to prioritize and adjust quickly when schedules or circumstances change Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills Comfortable dealing directly with customers and drivers Proficient with Microsoft Office and Outlook Strong knowledge of Houston-area ports and surrounding areas Experience with Port Houston, Bayport, and Barbours Cut preferred
