We are looking for an experienced, creative, and motivated Interior Designer to join our team. The Opportunity We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Interior Designer with a strong background in both residential and commercial design. The successful candidate will be involved in all phases of the design process, including conceptual design, space planning, material and finish selections, technical drawings, client presentations, and project coordination. This position is ideal for someone who combines creativity with strong technical skills, understands construction processes, and is confident managing multiple projects while maintaining a high standard of design and attention to detail. Key Responsibilities Interior Design & Space Planning Develop creative and functional design concepts for residential and commercial projects. Prepare detailed space plans, furniture layouts, and design development drawings. Create mood boards, concept presentations, material palettes, and visual presentations to communicate design intent. Select and specify interior finishes, fixtures, furniture, lighting, plumbing fixtures, hardware, and accessories. Develop cohesive design schemes that reflect client preferences, project requirements, and established budgets. Prepare furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FF&E) specifications and schedules. Research products, materials, and suppliers to ensure selections align with project requirements, availability, and budgets. Assist with furniture procurement, ordering, and installation coordination. Technical Drawings & Documentation Prepare detailed interior design drawings using AutoCAD, including floor plans, reflected ceiling plans, elevations, sections, and construction details. Develop millwork and cabinetry designs, including detailed elevations and specifications. Prepare lighting, electrical, plumbing fixture, and finish plans in coordination with relevant consultants and trades. Produce comprehensive drawing packages for design development, construction, and permitting as required. Review and revise drawings throughout the design and construction process. Ensure design documentation is accurate, coordinated, and consistent with project requirements. Apply knowledge of building codes, accessibility requirements, and construction standards to residential and commercial projects. 3D Modelling & Presentations Develop 3D models and visualizations to communicate design concepts and spatial relationships. Create professional client presentations that clearly communicate proposed layouts, finishes, furnishings, and design direction. Utilize SketchUp and rendering software to support design development and client presentations. Incorporate client feedback and design revisions throughout the project. Project Management & Coordination Coordinate projects through various phases of design, documentation, procurement, and construction. Collaborate with architects, architectural technologists, engineers, contractors, trades, and suppliers. Participate in project meetings, site visits, and construction reviews as required. Review shop drawings, samples, and product specifications to ensure alignment with approved designs. Assist in resolving site conditions, design discrepancies, and construction-related challenges.
