Little Black House Wayne, PA | Full-Time | In Office $65,000–$72,000 per year 3–5 Years of Professional Interior Design Experience Regional & National Travel Required About the Role Little Black House is seeking a talented Interior Designer II with 3–5 years of professional interior design experience to join our growing studio in Wayne, Pennsylvania. We are looking for a well-rounded designer who has a strong foundation in both the creative and technical sides of interior design and is ready to take the next step in their career. The ideal candidate has professional experience with AutoCAD, SketchUp, construction documents, space planning, FF&E specifications, finish selections, field measurements, and design presentations and is interested in growing toward a Senior Interior Designer / Project Lead position. Experience in multifamily, hospitality, commercial interiors, or amenity design is strongly preferred. This is a hands-on position. Our designers are involved throughout the entire project lifecycle: from initial site visits and design concepts through construction documentation, FF&E, installation, styling, and project completion. About Little Black House Little Black House is a boutique interior design studio based in Wayne, PA, specializing in hospitality-driven multifamily, hospitality, and commercial interiors . Our projects are located throughout the United States and include apartment and multifamily amenity spaces, lobbies, leasing offices, clubrooms, coworking spaces, fitness and wellness environments, game rooms, model residences, outdoor amenities, and other shared environments. Designing Destinations, Not Just Spaces. We create sophisticated, memorable interiors that balance strong design with functionality, durability, budget, and the realities of how spaces are built and used. What You'll Do As an Interior Designer II, you will work closely with our Principal and design team on multiple projects from concept through completion. Responsibilities include: Develop interior design concepts, color palettes, material selections, and overall design direction Create space plans, furniture layouts, and design presentations Select and specify FF&E, furniture, lighting, artwork, accessories, materials, and interior finishes Produce and coordinate AutoCAD drawings and construction documents Develop SketchUp models and Lumion renderings Prepare finish schedules, specifications, and FF&E documentation Research and specify appropriate contract-grade products and materials Assist with project budgeting and maintain selections within established budgets Coordinate with architects, contractors, consultants, vendors, manufacturers, and our internal procurement team Participate in client meetings and design presentations Conduct site surveys, field measurements, and project due diligence Accurately document existing conditions Review samples, shop drawings, and submittals as required Assist with construction-phase questions and project coordination Prepare detailed installation plans and installation guides Travel to out-of-state project locations is required for furniture installations, styling, and project completion. Installation trips may require up to three consecutive days on site, including overnight travel. Conduct punch lists and assist with project closeout Manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines in a fast-paced studio environment Travel Regional and national travel is an important part of this position. Because Little Black House works on projects throughout the United States, our designers are expected to be actively involved on site when needed.
