Interior Designer (5+ Years Experience)
CCS ArchitectureJob Overview Cass Calder Smith Architecture + Interiors is seeking an experienced Interior Designer with 5+ years of professional experience to join our San Francisco office and collaborate with our teams in San Francisco and New York. The ideal candidate is a talented, detail-oriented designer with strong design and technical skills and significant FF&E experience. This position will contribute to high-end residential and public-facing commercial projects through all phases, from concept design through construction administration. Responsibilities Develop interior design concepts, space plans, material palettes, technical drawings, millwork details, 3D models, renderings, and presentation materials. Lead and prepare FF&E selection, specification, documentation, budgeting, and client presentations for high-end residential and commercial projects. Collaborate with the design team, consultants and vendors to develop thoughtful, well-resolved interiors though all phases of the project. Produce and coordinate construction documents in AutoCAD, sometimes Revit and support construction administration Manage assigned projects or significant portions of projects, including schedules, budgets, coordination, and communication with clients and project teams. Support value engineering. Provide mentorship and direction to junior designers and staff Qualifications Minimum 5 years of professional interior design experience, preferably with high-end residential and commercial projects. Professional degree in Interior Design or Architecture. Strong experience with FF&E selection, specification, sourcing, budgeting, procurement coordination, and client presentations. Strong knowledge of interior materials, finishes, custom millwork, construction detailing, and applicable building codes. Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp, Rhino 3D, Enscape and Bluebeam; experience with other visualization and design software is a plus. Strong design, technical, visualization, communication, presentation, project management, and problem-solving skills. Highly organized, detail-oriented, collaborative, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Familiarity with LEED, WELL, and Fitwel is a plus. Fluency in written and spoken English and authorization to work in the United States. Compensation The salary range is $85,000-$105,000.Final compensation will be determined based on the candidate’s experience, qualifications, skills, and education. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package. Work Environment This is a full-time position based in our San Francisco office. The position is primarily on-site because in-person collaboration is an important part of our design process, communication, mentorship, continuous learning, productivity, and innovation.
