Job Summary The Inside Sales Representative plays a vital role in Fastening House’s customer service model and contributes directly to the company’s success and revenue growth. Delivering exceptional customer service and support is a key differentiator for Fastening House, and this role is central to that commitment. As a primary point of contact for customers and prospective customers, the Inside Sales Representative provides product knowledge, pricing information, service support, and assistance with general inquiries. The role also involves proactively managing and resolving customer-related issues, including shipment discrepancies and credit concerns, to ensure a positive customer experience. Inside Sales Representatives are the key connections for Fastening House customers on a day-to-day basis. Job Duties & Responsibilities Process customer orders and coordinate order fulfillment to ensure accuracy and timely delivery. Build and maintain strong professional relationships with customers, manufacturers, and internal stakeholders. Take a consultative, solution-oriented approach to customer interactions by asking the right questions, identifying needs, recommending products, and proactively suggesting complementary products, upgrades, and alternative solutions. Monitor and follow up on customer orders and quotes, providing timely updates and proactively communicating changes or potential delays. Manage backorders and keep customers informed of anticipated delivery dates and order status. Greet and assist walk-in customers, providing knowledgeable and responsive over-the-counter service as required. Identify opportunities to promote products, communicate current promotions, and recommend cross-sell and up-sell opportunities that add value for customers. Maintain accurate customer contact information and develop an understanding of key decision-makers, influencers, and purchasing contacts within each account. Collaborate with Outside Sales Representatives to identify, develop, and secure new sales opportunities. Liaise with manufacturers and suppliers to obtain product information, specifications, pricing, availability, and delivery details. Secure competitive special pricing for volume opportunities, understand applicable pricing structures, and leverage available programs to win business. Develop new customer accounts independently, where Outside Sales support is not available, effectively communicating and positioning Fastening House's value proposition. Collaborate with warehouse teams across the organization to coordinate order fulfillment, resolve issues, and ensure customer orders are completed accurately and on time.
