Inside Counter Sales-Dispatcher Position (1+ yrs Exp Pref)

Position Summary: Inside Counter Sales Position – Dispatcher Barnes & Cone, a 100-year-old manufacturing company in Syracuse, is looking to fill a diversified role as an Inside Counter Sales Person/ Dispatcher for our truck drivers. Knowledge of masonry and landscaping is a plus; however, we are willing to train. If you enjoy learning and working with a wide variety of homeowners and contractors in a fast-paced environment, you’ll find this an interesting and rewarding position. Barnes & Cone began manufacturing concrete block in 1926, with Micron Technology's plans to build a massive computer chip complex just 11 miles from our plant, it is a good time to join a building materials manufacturer. Mainstream Functions of the Inside Counter Sales Position-Dispatcher: Work with customers on the phone, at the front counter and outside display area answering a broad range of questions concerning the products we sell. Obtains information necessary to provide quotations, this includes some good math skills to calculate square footage. With experience this includes material takeoffs. Receive and enter customer orders into our system software (Spruce) along with using Microsoft & Excel Dispatch our truck drivers with the orders that need delivering. Interacts with drivers and yard staff to facilitate customer orders and deliveries. Assist outside sales preparing documents and samples. Help maintain outside display areas. · Hours: Monday through Friday 7:00 A.M. or 7:30 A.M. To approximately 4:00 P.M. · Lunch 30 Minutes The hours listed above are a good representation of the hours that this position works. However, Barnes & Cone is a seasonal business, and hours will vary as the company’s workload increases or decreases. · Dress: Casual Business · Pay: Hourly, Overtime After 40 Hours · Experience of Ideal Candidates: · Enjoy working with our customer base. Which is primarily masons and homeowners. · Big Box or Construction Supply background · Proficient at Excel and Word · Phone Call Handling experience ·Interest in landscaping These are the mainstream duties of this position.
