Overview We're looking for a skilled, dependable sewing machine operator to join our team on a temporary full-time basis. You'll sew, finish, and inspect fabric pouches for our training systems to our quality standards. Industrial serger experience is required. Responsibilities Sew, assemble, and finish fabric pouches for our training systems using industrial sewing equipment, including a Juki serger Follow patterns, work orders, and specifications to meet quality and production targets Set up and thread machines, adjust tension and stitch settings, and do basic routine maintenance Handle fabric materials carefully, including manual fabric cutting, to prepare components for sewing processes. Maintain safety standards in production by following proper machine operation procedures and handling materials responsibly. Perform quality checks throughout the sewing process, verifying seam construction, dimensional measurements, and overall product integrity. Manage materials handling efficiently within the workspace, ensuring smooth workflow from fabric storage to finished product assembly. Keep your work area clean, organized, and safe Meet daily production goals while maintaining accuracy Required Qualifications Proven experience operating an industrial overlock/serger machine Working knowledge of other industrial sewing machines (e.g., lockstitch) Ability to read and follow patterns, instructions, and basic measurements Good attention to detail and consistent stitch quality Able to work at a steady pace and meet deadlines Reliable attendance and ability to commit to the full length of the assignment Knowledge of safety standards in production environments and adherence to safety protocols at all times Preferred Qualifications Experience on Juki sergers 1+ years of industrial or commercial sewing experience Experience with a variety of fabrics (knits, wovens, stretch, heavy-weight materials) Basic machine troubleshooting skills Experience in alterations, repairs, or production sewing Warehouse experience is a plus, demonstrating organizational skills in materials handling and inventory management Physical Requirements With or without reasonable accommodation, the role requires the ability to: Sit for extended periods and perform repetitive hand and arm movements See fine stitch detail (with or without correction) and perform precise hand work Lift up to 25 lbs of materials as needed Schedule Full-time, approximately 40 hours per week, with flexible schedule options: Monday to Friday daytime shifts (e.g., 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM or 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM), or four 10-hour days per week Assignment length: 2-3 months Possible overtime during peak periods, paid per Oregon law Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week Work Location: In person
