Industrial Freight & Shipping Associate

Location: Troy, MI Job Type: Full-Time Pay: $20–22 per hour Shift: Day Shift Work Location: In-person Job Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented Warehouse Associate with strong freight and shipping experience to support our industrial parts operations in Troy, MI. This role handles heavy, high-value industrial components moving through our hub - from receipt from client organizations, through vendor processing, to final shipment to customers. This is not a high-volume box-handling role; it requires someone who is precise, process-driven, and comfortable working hands-on with shipments day in and day out. Key Responsibilities Receive, inspect, and verify incoming industrial parts shipments from client organizations Learn and perform incoming parts processing, including logging parts into our ERP system with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail Properly move parts to the next stage in the shipping cycle according to established procedures Prepare, strap, band, and palletize outgoing freight shipments to vendors and customers Operate forklifts and pallet jacks to move freight Print shipping paperwork and communicate freight details to schedule carrier pickups Enter and maintain accurate records in our ERP system at every stage of the part’s movement Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area Communicate effectively with internal teams and customers regarding shipment status Qualifications Proven experience with freight shipping and receiving, including strapping and banding — distribution/parcel-only experience (e.g., Amazon-style box handling) is not a fit for this role Comfortable and experienced handling heavy industrial freight on a daily basis Strong computer skills and experience working within an ERP system Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in documentation Track record of reliability and steady employment history Forklift/pallet jack certification a plus Benefits 401(k) with company match Health, dental, and vision insurance Paid time off and holidays Employee discounts Supportive and collaborative team environment 8am-5pm Monday-Friday
