Industrial Forklift Operator

The Production Forklift Operator is responsible for following scheduled work activities, ensuring quality of workmanship, and operating/maneuvering production equipment to move large parts in an outdoor environment. This operator may also be responsible for using manifests in order to load trucks for delivery. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Use forklift to move, stack, and sort steel parts, this can consist of 60 ft beams and racks of hanging steel Follows production schedule and ensures that work is completed on time by prioritizing and allocating manpower Document and track production totals and fills out applicable form/report Recommends measures to improve production methods and quality of product Understands the quality expectations, quickly identifies and correct issues related to quality. Housekeeping of work area, keeps areas safe Ensure on time delivery each day Flexibility with working on the forklift and off the forklift assisting co-workers Loading and unloading trucks for deliveries Required Qualifications The ability to coordinate a complex workflow Good time management and proven multi-tasking skills Ability to be self-sufficient and self-motivated Ability to work in a complex work environment, maneuvering around a steel yard Demonstrates initiative, sense of urgency and is self-motivated when addressing work tasks Team oriented Ability to operate forklifts on rough/uneven terrain while carrying large loads Preferred Qualifications High School Diploma/GED 2+ years of forklift experience Excellent Benefit Package Generous 401k match Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance Life Insurance (Spouse & Children) Short-term Disability Insurance Paid Time Off Profit Sharing Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, wet conditions, extreme heat, fumes and airborne particles, toxic and caustic chemicals, and outside weather conditions. Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is continuously required to move throughout the facility including on uneven terrain. Employee will operate equipment such as overhead cranes, robots, and forklift as well as position self to inspect equipment and ascend/descend to view equipment. Duties also require continuously moving items up to 75lbs.
