Indirect Sourcing Specialist

Gilson Inc., a leader in life science technology, is seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Indirect Sourcing Specialist to join our dynamic Procurement team in Middleton, Wisconsin.  In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring the efficient and cost-effective procurement of various non-production goods and services, contributing to the smooth operation of our organization.  This is a learning level position within Global Sourcing and provides a starting point for development of sourcing fundamentals through on-the-job experience and practical training. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Vendor Management: Develop and maintain relationships with indirect suppliers, negotiating contracts and terms to ensure optimal pricing, quality, and delivery. 
• Contract Management: Maintain contract records, responsible for keeping track of all contracts, including the start and end dates, renewal options, and any amendments that have been made. 
• Cost Optimization: Identify cost-saving opportunities through analysis of supplier contracts, market trends, and strategic sourcing initiatives. 
• Risk Management: Assess and mitigate potential risks related to supplier relationships, contractual agreements, and market fluctuations. 
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with internal stakeholders such as finance, operations, and various departments to understand their indirect procurement needs and provide effective solutions. 
• Market Research: Stay informed about market trends, industry best practices, and emerging technologies relevant to indirect sourcing, providing insights to the procurement team. 
• Compliance: Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies in all sourcing activities. 

JOB REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION

• Bachelor's degree (Operations Management or International Business) 

WORK EXPERIENCE

• At least 2 years' experience preferably in a supply chain function (planning, manufacturing, logistics, distribution) 

SKILLS OR KNOWLEDGE

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. 
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and Word. 
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously. 
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy. 
• A willingness to learn and adapt to new procedures and technologies.
