Overview Join our dynamic team as an Independent Medical Courier Contractor and play a vital role in ensuring the timely and secure transportation of medical specimens, equipment, and supplies. As a courier, you will be the friendly face representing our organization! Your dedication to safe driving and excellent customer service will help us maintain the highest standards of reliability and professionalism. This route is picking up from White City VAMC and delivering supplies and mail to Klamath Falls CBOC where you will then pickup the specimens and any mail and return it to the White City VAMC. Duties Safely operate your personal vehicle, adhering strictly to all traffic laws and DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations. Load and unload medical supplies and specimens using manual handling techniques and material handling equipment ensuring safe lifting practices at all times. Plan for daily deliveries, maintaining punctuality and responsiveness to urgent requests. Deliver medical specimens, equipment, and supplies directly to healthcare facilities, laboratories, or patient locations with professionalism and care. Maintain accurate delivery logs using mobile devices or digital tracking systems; document delivery times, recipient signatures, and any issues encountered during routes. Communicate effectively with dispatch teams or healthcare clients regarding delivery statuses or delays. Follow all safety protocols related to heavy lifting, manual handling, warehouse operations, and moving procedures to prevent injuries. Skills Proven experience in delivery driving, courier services, or warehouse operations with a focus on manual handling and moving items safely. Strong knowledge of route driving techniques with an emphasis on adhering to traffic regulations and DOT standards. Experience operating commercial trucks such as box trucks or cargo vans; familiarity with manual transmission is a plus. Ability to lift heavy items safely while following proper lifting practices; comfortable with manual handling equipment like pallet jacks when required. Excellent customer service skills with a professional attitude when interacting with clients at delivery sites. Proficiency in using mobile devices for route navigation, delivery documentation, and communication purposes. Ability to work independently while managing time effectively across multiple deliveries throughout the day. Knowledge of warehouse operations including material handling equipment operation is advantageous but not mandatory.
