Independent Location Operator/Route Sales

Job Overview We are seeking a motivated, dependable Independent Location Operator to operate and grow a distribution route throughout the local area. This is not a traditional hourly delivery position . The Route Operator is an independent contractor responsible for managing their own route, including purchasing inventory through our distribution operation, transporting merchandise, maintaining inventory, servicing retail accounts, and growing sales. This opportunity is ideal for someone who is entrepreneurial, organized, comfortable working independently, and interested in building their own route-based business. Duties As an Independent Route Operator, you will be responsible for: Ordering McKee Foods merchandise through our distribution account Picking up and transporting merchandise to your assigned territory Maintaining a clean, organized warehouse/storage location for your inventory Managing inventory levels and ordering product based on store demand Stocking and merchandising products in local retail locations Servicing local grocery stores, convenience stores, Dollar General locations, and other assigned retail accounts Rotating product and maintaining attractive, well-stocked displays Monitoring product movement and minimizing out-of-stocks and excess inventory Building and maintaining professional relationships with store managers and personnel Managing your route efficiently and maximizing sales opportunities Maintaining accurate records of inventory, orders, and sales Operating your route in compliance with applicable company and retailer requirements Independent Contractor Requirements Applicants must: Have or obtain reliable transportation capable of safely transporting food merchandise, such as a box truck, pickup truck with appropriate trailer, or comparable vehicle Obtain and maintain commercial/business automobile insurance appropriate for the operation Have the ability to obtain and maintain a suitable warehouse or clean, secure storage space for merchandise Be physically capable of repeatedly lifting, carrying, loading, and unloading cases of product Be comfortable working independently without direct day-to-day supervision Have reliable communication and organizational skills Have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record Be able to meet all applicable requirements for operating as an independent contractor All vehicle, insurance, warehouse/storage, fuel, maintenance, and other business operating expenses are the responsibility of the independent contractor.
