Independent Courier Contractor

Job Summary As an Independent Courier Contractor, you’ll keep deliveries moving safely and reliably from pickup through drop-off. You’ll use a personal vehicle or, where applicable, a van or box truck to transport and deliver items, communicate professionally with customers, and follow assigned routes. This independent contractor role requires dependable driving, careful handling of goods, and attention to traffic and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations that apply to your work. Duties Pick up, load, transport, and unload deliveries; use safe lifting practices and handle workplace weights responsibly. Drive assigned routes, use mobile devices for delivery updates, and follow traffic regulations. Provide courteous customer service and confirm delivery details as required. Use a pallet jack or other material handling equipment when needed and appropriate. Your impact: Careful handling and dependable delivery help customers receive their items safely and on time. Experience Delivery driver, courier, van driver, or personal vehicle delivery experience is useful; commercial driving or commercial truck driving experience is preferred. Warehouse experience, warehouse operations, and experience with loading and unloading or moving materials are helpful. Ability to perform manual handling and heavy lifting safely; familiarity with weight handling in the workplace is an asset. Experience operating a pallet jack or other material handling equipment is preferred. A valid driving qualification for the vehicle used, including manual transmission capability when required, and knowledge of applicable DOT regulations are beneficial.
