Independent Contract Carrier for Furniture Home Delivery (Houston)

Job Summary We are seeking motivated and dependable Independent Contract Carriers to join our dynamic team for furniture home delivery in Houston. This role offers an exciting opportunity to operate your own vehicle while providing exceptional service to customers by delivering quality furniture items safely and efficiently. As a key part of our delivery network, you will be responsible for transporting furniture from our warehouse to customer locations, ensuring timely and professional service. This position is ideal for experienced independent contract carriers who thrive in a fast-paced environment, enjoy manual handling tasks, and take pride in delivering a positive customer experience. All deliveries are paid positions, emphasizing the importance of safety, efficiency, and customer satisfaction. Responsibilities Safely operate your personal or commercial vehicle, (26' box truck), to deliver furniture items across designated routes in the greater Houston area. Inspect, wrap, load, unload and assemble furniture. Ensure compliance with DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and traffic laws during all driving activities. Handle heavy lifting and moving tasks efficiently while maintaining safety standards for yourself and customers’ property. Communicate professionally with customers upon delivery, providing excellent customer service and addressing any questions or concerns. Utilize mobile devices or delivery apps to receive route instructions, update delivery statuses, and document completed deliveries accurately. Maintain vehicle cleanliness and perform routine checks to ensure optimal operation throughout the day. Experience Prior experience in delivery driving especially with furniture or large items, is highly preferred. Proven ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform manual handling tasks regularly. Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience operating box trucks, commercially. Knowledge of route driving best practices, adherence to traffic regulations, and DOT (Department of Transportation) compliance is essential. Comfortable working with mobile devices for navigation and communication purposes. ICC Requirements: Own or lease a 26-foot all-white late model truck (with liftgate), in perfect mechanical and cosmetic condition Have an established business (i.e. LLC, INC) Possess current DOT authority and necessary insurance Ability to clear comprehensive background check and drug test Commitment to providing exceptional customer service Compensation: Flat Truck Rate of $700 per day, includes $20 per day for marketing fee Extra mileage compensation for routes exceeding 150 miles, weekly average Why Join Us?
