Incoming Inspector, Quality Technician

Dematic is seeking a Quality Technician to join our manufacturing operations team in Grand Rapids, Michigan. In this role, you will help ensure products meet quality and performance standards throughout the manufacturing process. The base pay range for this role is estimated to be $21 - $25 at the time of posting. Final compensation will be determined by various factors such as work location, education, experience, knowledge, and skills. Tasks and Qualifications: What You Will Do in This Role: Inspect incoming materials, in-process components, and finished products to verify conformance to engineering drawings, specifications, and quality requirements. Perform visual and dimensional inspections using measurement equipment such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and other precision tools. Document inspection results and quality dispositions within SAP and other quality systems. Conduct First Piece Inspections (FPI), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) inspections, and other product verification activities when needed. Monitor and manage quality hold areas, including product containment, inventory control, and electronic quality holds. Support supplier quality activities, including coordinating product returns, corrective actions, and material disposition with external vendors. Maintain calibration records and coordinate calibration activities for measurement equipment to ensure compliance and accuracy. Collect, analyze, and report quality-related data to support decision-making and continuous improvement initiatives. Partner with Operations, Engineering, Purchasing, and other cross-functional teams to resolve quality issues and minimize production disruptions. Participate in internal audits and support compliance with ISO 9001 quality management standards. Assist with special projects, investigations, root cause analysis, and process improvement activities. Support pre-shipment quality verification activities and customer-specific quality requirements when needed. What We Are Looking For: High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in a Quality, Manufacturing, Inspection, or related technical role. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical specifications. Experience using precision measurement tools and inspection equipment.
