Job Description: Inbound Transportation Supervisor The Inbound Transportation Supervisor leads and develops a team of Associate Planners (APs) responsible for the day-to-day execution of inbound transportation support. The Supervisor has direct accountability for team performance, including the quality, quantity, timeliness, consistency, and service levels of AP work. This role directs workload and priorities, provides coaching and performance feedback, and serves as an escalation point for complex transportation issues and carrier service failures. The Supervisor partners across Transportation Planning, carriers, vendors, Business Enablement, Strategy & Analytics, Freight Payment, EDI, Consolidation, Special Services, Supply Chain Investigations, and IT to maintain freight flow, improve carrier and operational performance, strengthen AP processes and controls, and advance workflow and technology improvements. What You’ll Do Lead, coach, and develop Associate Planners, establishing clear performance expectations and accountability for the quality, quantity, timeliness, and consistency of their work. Monitor individual and team performance, provide ongoing feedback and development, and ensure adherence to established procedures and service expectations. Direct day-to-day AP workload, priorities, coverage, and execution to ensure transportation inquiries, late loads, escalations, and other time-sensitive work are resolved within established service levels and appropriately handed off across the team. Oversee resolution of inbound transportation exceptions and complex issues, including carrier service failures, missed pickups, delivery delays, load execution issues, and systemic challenges; ensure effective escalation, follow-through, and accurate load status. Build team capability in problem solving, business judgment, organization, communication, and decision-making, ensuring APs understand operational and financial impacts, appropriately engage partners, and drive issues through resolution. Provide oversight of carrier compliance and service management activities, ensuring performance trends are identified, appropriate escalations and corrective actions occur, and insights are translated into improvements in carrier and inbound performance. Own and continuously improve key AP processes, workflows, controls, and operating procedures, including exception management, late pickup and delivery resolution, accessorial approvals, load maintenance, scheduling, invoicing support, and related activities. Leverage metrics, reporting, and root-cause analysis to monitor AP and transportation performance, identify trends, improve service, reduce cost and manual effort, and strengthen visibility and accountability. Partner with Business Enablement, Strategy & Analytics, IT, and other stakeholders to prioritize and implement workflow automation, system enhancements, reporting improvements, and scalable solutions that support AP execution and broader Inbound priorities. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Transportation, Business or a related field, or equivalent relevant work experience.
