Pathmark Transportation is hiring a Inbound and Outbound Supervisor The Inbound and Outbound Dock Supervisor oversees daily receiving and unloading operations, ensuring incoming freight is handled safely, accurately, and efficiently. This position supervises dock employees, coordinates inbound shipments, and maintains communication with transportation, warehouse management, and other departments to meet service expectations. Essential Duties And Responsibilities Supervise inbound dock employees, assign daily responsibilities, and monitor productivity and work quality. Coordinate trailer arrivals, dock assignments, and unloading priorities to keep freight moving and minimize delays. Verify incoming freight against bills of lading, manifests, and receiving documents. Ensure freight is counted, inspected, scanned, labeled, and staged in the correct locations. Document and report freight shortages, overages, damages, and receiving discrepancies promptly. Communicate shipment delays, staffing needs, equipment issues, and operational concerns to management. Train and coach employees on receiving procedures, freight handling, scanning equipment, and safe work practices. Enforce company safety procedures, including proper lifting, forklift operation, trailer securement, and pedestrian awareness. Ensure equipment inspections are completed and unsafe or damaged equipment is reported and removed from service. Maintain clean, organized dock areas with clear aisles, exits, and access to emergency equipment. Address employee performance and attendance concerns consistently with company policies. Complete shift reports and provide clear handoffs regarding pending freight, exceptions, and priorities. Identify opportunities to reduce freight damage, improve receiving accuracy, and increase dock efficiency. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred. At least two years of warehouse, receiving, dock, or freight-handling experience preferred. Previous Supervisory Or Team Leadership Experience Preferred. Working knowledge of receiving procedures, shipping documents, and inventory controls. Strong communication, organization, problem-solving, and leadership skills. Ability to prioritize work and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment. Basic computer skills and experience with warehouse systems and handheld scanners. Forklift experience preferred; must complete required training and authorization before operating equipment. Physical Requirements and Work Environment Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, and movement throughout the dock. Ability to assist with freight handling within established safe lifting limits and use team lifting or mechanical assistance when needed. Work around moving equipment, truck traffic, warehouse noise, and varying temperatures. Availability to work assigned shifts, overtime, and weekends as operational needs require.
