Inbound & Inventory Control Lead
K&S LOGISTICSK&S Logistics — East Windsor, NJ 08512 Full-time | On-site | $28–$34 per hour, plus applicable overtime K&S Logistics is preparing to launch a warehouse operation at 115 Melrich Road in East Windsor, New Jersey. We are hiring an Inbound & Inventory Control Lead to take ownership of receiving, putaway, inventory accuracy and the handoff of verified inventory to outbound. You will personally do the daily receiving and inventory work from the start, while helping build the team and operating process. As employees are hired, you will recruit, train and lead them and continue working alongside them on the floor. You must be comfortable planning the work and doing the work yourself. You will report to Sean and work closely with the Outbound Fulfillment Lead. The goal is a reliable operation that meets agreed service standards and handles routine work without daily intervention from senior management. What you will do Review upcoming shipments, receiving information, appointments and expected workload. Coordinate incoming trucks and communicate missing information or changes early. Plan dock use, staging space, putaway locations, equipment and receiving labor. Keep incoming work from blocking picking and shipping. Personally receive, unload or move goods using approved equipment and safe methods; check customer/SKU identity, quantities, labels and visible condition; document shortages, overages and damage. Enter and verify receiving, putaway and inventory movements in the WMS using barcode/RF scanning. Keep physical inventory and system records aligned. Investigate discrepancies using counts and transaction history. Preserve records and follow the approval process for corrections; keep affected inventory on hold when required. Plan replenishment with outbound so the correct customer inventory is available in picking locations before it is needed. Confirm inventory is properly received, located and released before handing it to outbound. Propose controlled solutions to urgent needs without bypassing required checks. Recruit and interview inbound staff within the approved hiring plan. Train employees, assign daily work, check results and develop backup coverage. Write practical SOPs, track receiving backlog and exceptions, and follow corrective actions through to completion. Maintain safe, organized receiving and storage areas. Operate equipment only after the required training, evaluation and authorization. What we are looking for Proven hands-on receiving, putaway and inventory-control experience in a warehouse, distribution or fulfillment operation. Experience personally using a WMS and barcode/RF scanners, performing cycle counts and investigating inventory differences. Experience assigning work, training warehouse employees and checking quality and safety. Ability to plan a shift, identify capacity problems and make routine decisions within approved procedures. Practical spreadsheet and computer skills for schedules, counts and exception follow-up. Clear work communication and the ability to understand safety instructions, WMS information and warehouse records in English. Willingness to perform daily floor work during launch and as the team grows, including moving, handling, counting and scanning goods with appropriate equipment or assistance. Multi-client 3PL experience, warehouse startup experience and replenishment/slotting experience are helpful. A college degree and Mandarin are not required. We assess what you have actually done, not just your previous title. Schedule, pay and benefits Pay: $28–$34/hour , based on relevant skills and experience, plus applicable overtime. Regular schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:30 p.m. , with overtime as operational needs require.
