Import Specialist

About us Systems American Cargo is an FMC-licensed NVOCC and freight forwarder based in Doral, FL, with more than 40 years in the business. We move ocean and air freight for customers across the Americas and beyond. The role We are looking for an Import Coordinator to manage our import shipments from booking to final delivery. You will work with customers, carriers, customs brokers, and truckers to keep cargo moving and customers informed. Responsibilities Coordinate ocean and air import shipments from origin to delivery - Prepare and review import documents: bills of lading, commercial invoices, packing lists and arrival notices - Work with customs brokers on ISF filings and entries - Create and manage import files, pickup orders and shipment records in our freight forwarding system (Magaya) - Track containers and flights, and update customers on status and delays - Arrange drayage and local delivery, and release cargo - Monitor free time, demurrage and detention to avoid extra charges - Support invoicing and billing for import files - Answer customer and agent questions quickly and accurately Requirements Minimum [2] years of experience in import operations at a freight forwarder, NVOCC, or customs brokerage - Knowledge of U.S. import documentation and customs procedures (ISF, ACE/ABI) - Experience with freight forwarding software such as Magaya, CargoWise or similar. Magaya is preferred - Fluent English, written and spoken. Spanish or Portuguese is a plus - Strong attention to detail and the ability to handle several files at once - Proficiency with Microsoft Office - Must currently live in the United States, within commuting distance of Doral, FL, and be legally authorized to work in the U.S. - No visa sponsorship or relocation is offered for this position Pay: $52,000.00 - $60,700.00 per year Benefits: Health insurance Paid time off Location: Doral, FL 33172 (Required) Work Location: In person
